Journeyman Electrician

Journeyman Electrician - Lewiston, ID Sofidel America, a global leader in tissue product manufacturing for domestic and hygienic use, is committed to sustainability, innovation, and operational excellence. We are seeking a Journeyman Electrician in our Maintenance Department. The Journeyman Electrician will be responsible for assembling, installing, testing, maintaining, and repairing electrical and electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatuses, and fixtures using hand and power tools. This is a union covered position. This position will primarily follow a day shift schedule: Monday-Thursday, 4 - 10-hour shifts. Key Responsibilities:Diagnosing malfunctioning systems, equipment, and components to identify and correct issues safely and efficiently.Connecting wiring to circuit breakers, transformers, and other electrical componentsInspecting electrical systems and equipment to identify hazards, defects or necessary repairs while ensuring compliance with applicable codes and safety standardsTesting electrical systems and circuit continuity using devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to ensure system compatibility and safetyTroubleshooting and maintaining industrial electrical systems in a manufacturing environment Experience and Qualifications:Successful completion of an approved electrical apprenticeship programCurrent Idaho State Journeyman Electrician license, or the ability to obtain an Idaho Journeyman Electrician license within six months of employmentMinimum of 3-5 years of journeyman-level experience in an industrial manufacturing environment; pulp and paper industry experience preferredAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logicExperience troubleshooting and evaluating systems including:PLCsAC/DC drives and motorsControl systemsHigh-voltage switchgear and transformersExperience with motor management systems, speed controls, and related equipmentWillingness to learn and utilize secondary maintenance skills in instrumentation and refrigerationAbility to complete documentation within a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work independently with minimal supervisionSelf-motivated, accountable, and safety-focused mindsetFlexibility to work shift schedules as needed Why Join Sofidel America?Competitive compensation with growth opportunities.Comprehensive medical benefits package.Floating Holiday and vacation time.401(k) retirement plan with company match.Career advancement opportunities in a global industry leader.
