Academy Substitute Teacher

Job Description Position OverviewResponsible for ensuring the Academy program is a warm, nurturing, safe and loving environment for each child. Has the ability to jump into any situation in need of extra attention in the program setting. This position has a variety of responsibilities; the need to be flexible is extremely important and always willing to help out in any situation.QualificationsBaccalaureate degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education or comparablePrevious experience in an early childhood educational program. A minimum of 1 years of teaching experience in an early childhood or elementary education setting.Ability to relate to parents of preschoolers and communicate effectively with staff, co-workers and familiesDemonstrate an understanding of and dedication to meeting the needs of early child children and their familiesProficient in providing quality care to a variety of aged children (birth – 5 years of age) As well as staffing and continuing to strive for 100% enrollmentAble to communicate well and build rapport with staff, parents and childrenAbility to be extremely flexible and take direction from a variety of staff membersSubscribe to and affirm the Statement of Faith and Covenant of Wooddale ChurchResponsibilitiesAbility to be to work on time, assist in classroom set-up, creative a positive environment with a positive attitudeAbility to assist with a classroom of early childhood children (in ratio)Ability to be flexible, positive and multi-task in the classroom environmentImplementation of developmentally appropriate lesson plans that Lead Teacher has preparedEstablish and implement positive, appropriate and consistent boundaries with childrenSets up and takes down classroom as needed, keeping a tidy, interesting area at all timesReturns materials in a timely respectful, organized mannerMaintains positive, respectful relationships with parents and partners together in their child’s educational developmentRelationshipsReports directly to the Wooddale Academy Site DirectorCoordinates and cooperates with other church staff and departments as neededBenefits & CompensationWooddale Church offers a comprehensive benefits package for all 40+ hour full-time employees, which includes opportunities to elect Medical (30+ hour full-time), Dental, Life/AD&D, HSA, Flex, LTD, optional Vision, optional Life/AD&D, optional STD, a Health & Wellness Plan and a 403(b) retirement plan with company match and immediate vesting.Projected hourly rate: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour depending upon experience and qualifications.
