Specialty Physical Medicine and Rehab : Start Date: 08/15/2026 End date : 03/31/2027 Coverage type : Clinic only EMR : Epic Certification : BC, BLS License : Licensed in AK or IMLC Credentialing : 90 days Description : Locum Tenens Physician Opportunity PM&R (Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation) Hospital is seeking a Board-Certified Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) Physician for a full-time locum tenens assignment The facility is seeking consistent, ongoing coverage to support inpatient rehabilitation services while recruiting for permanent physician staff. Assignment Details Schedule Coverage Type: Inpatient Rehabilitation Assignment Dates: August 15, 2026 March 31, 2027 Schedule: Monday Friday Shift Hours: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM Call Requirement: None Minimum Commitment: 4 weeks per month 46 acute inpatient rehabilitation beds Collaborative physician care model Hospitalist attending physicians with PM&R physicians serving in a consulting role Multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams focused on high-quality patient outcomes This collaborative structure allows providers to practice at the highest level of their specialty expertise while maintaining manageable patient volumes and strong clinical support. Clinical Responsibilities Manage a rehabilitation patient panel of up to 23 patients Conduct inpatient rehabilitation consultations and follow-up care See rehabilitation patients a minimum of 3 times per week in accordance with CMS regulations Collaborate closely with hospitalists, therapy teams, nursing staff, and case management Support comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation treatment planning and patient progression Qualifications Required Board Certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) Active Alaska License, IMLC, or Alaska Temporary License Active DEA Registration Preferred Prior inpatient rehabilitation experience Strong collaborative and interdisciplinary communication skills Additional Information No call responsibilities Full-time ongoing coverage preferred Opportunity to work in a highly respected rehabilitation environment serving patients across Alaska This assignment offers an exceptional opportunity for a PM&R physician seeking a structured inpatient rehabilitation practice in a scenic and professionally rewarding setting.
