The school offers a rigorous bilingual academic program to more than 370 students, from Pre-Nursery through 8th Grade (ages 2–14).At The École, we believe that the goal of education is to develop well-informed, well-rounded, responsible, and compassionate students who are prepared to engage with a world of possibilities.From Maternelle through Middle School, The École blends the strengths of the French and American educational systems, fostering bilingualism, strong academic foundations, and a thoughtful, multicultural perspective.School Overview370+ students47 teachers79 nationalities representedMaximum of 20 students per group (12 students per group in science)2 classes per gradePosition OverviewThe École is seeking a full-time American Science Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year to teach 6th through 8th Grade.The teacher will work closely with the French Science teacher to plan and deliver a cohesive, bilingual science program in English that aligns with and complements the French curriculum, and prepares our students to attend the best high schools in New York.ResponsibilitiesPlan and teach science classes in English for 6th through 8th GradeCollaborate with the French Science teacher to ensure alignment between the American and French programsDemonstrate a strong passion for science and engage students through inquiry-based learningContribute to the development and continuous improvement of the American science curriculumWork with school leadership to ensure curricular continuity from Elementary through Middle SchoolCollaborate with Middle School faculty on interdisciplinary projects and field tripsParticipate actively in faculty meetings, collaborative planning, and professional developmentMonitor and support student academic progress, maintaining high expectationsBuild strong relationships with students, colleagues, and familiesCommunicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, assignments, and class activitiesRequired Skills & ExperienceMaster’s degree in Science Education, Mathematics Education, Environmental Education, or a related fieldAbility to take initiative and demonstrate leadershipCollaborative and team-oriented mindsetFlexible, inclusive, and creative approach to teachingStrong interpersonal and communication skills, including social-emotional awarenessPreferred Skills & ExperienceExperience in bilingual, dual-language, or international independent schoolsProficiency in French is an asset but not requiredCompensationSalary range: $70,000–$90,000, commensurate with experienceCompetitive benefits packageStart DateWednesday, August 26, 2026The École is an equal opportunity employer.
