MATLAB / Simulink DeveloperLocation: Minneapolis, MN Work Schedule: Onsite Tuesday, Wednesday & ThursdayRole OverviewWe are looking for an experienced MATLAB / Simulink Developer to support model-based development for embedded control systems within the power generation domain. The ideal candidate will design, simulate, and validate control algorithms using MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow, and contribute to embedded software development for generator sets and automatic transfer switch (ATS) controllers. This role requires strong technical expertise, hands-on modeling experience, and a solid understanding of electrical systems and power generation principles.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop moderately complex control algorithms using MATLAB / Simulink (Model-Based Development)Create Simulink and Stateflow models to generate embedded software for:Generator set controllersAutomatic Transfer Switch (ATS) controllersPerform performance simulations, including:Steady-state analysisDynamic and transient behavior simulationUtilize mathematical models and CAE/scientific tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, MathCAD, etc.Conduct and support product-level testing and validation activitiesCreate and maintain design documentation for technical reviewsCollaborate with cross-functional teams including controls, validation, and embedded software teamsRequired Skills & Experience7+ years of experience in MATLAB / Simulink Model-Based Development (MBD)Strong understanding of MATLAB and Simulink fundamentals, tools, and workflowsHands-on experience with StateflowExperience with embedded control systemsStrong background in performance simulation (steady-state, dynamic, transient)Experience in product-level testing and validationAbility to create clear and structured technical/design documentationDomain Knowledge (Highly Preferred)Understanding of electrical systems in the power generation industry, such as:Distributed / embedded power generationConventional centralized power generationIslanded / standalone power systemsExperience working with industrial controllers, generators, or power systems
