We are a 5 year running Top Workplace in the Greater St. Louis area.Job SummaryLeonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a Senior Software Engineer Contractor for our Bridgeton, MO facility. This role will serve as a network administrator responsible for the setup and maintenance of our internal Software Development Tier 2 network to include our software development tools and Windows embedded environments. This contract is expected to last up to 18 months, with the ability to extend if needed.Job ResponsibilitiesInvolved with the design, development, analysis, testing and debugging of computer software applications and/or systems. May include Image and Signal Processing, Real-time, Firmware, Nuclear/Hi-Rel, FAA Certified, Database Design, Operating Systems, Operator/Machine Interface, or others. Develop software tools including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools. Determine hardware compatibility. Complete documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance. Interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.Responsible for leading group of engineers on a technical activity and completion of activity on time and budgetDesign, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems May use computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software in the performance of assignments. Review customer specifications and requirements, and under direction, develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable Provide budget, cost and schedule input for design assignmentsSpecify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and servicesDrive the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirementsDevelop prototypes to retire key development risksCommunicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as requiredParticipate in preparation of proposalsProvide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers and support personnelLead and direct the work of others as assignedSupport, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organizationAttend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetingsLead less-experienced engineersQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related technical field with a minimum of 5 years of experienceIT configuration management experienceLinux System Administration experience Experience in Administrating and Maintaining software development tools (such as GitLab, Jenkins, Fortify, etc.)Experience in Administering, updating, and configuring Windows embedded environments (PE, IOT, etc.)Familiarity with containerization and virtualizationExperience in configuring managed switchesAbility to lead a technical group independentlyThe salary range for this position is $93,121.00/year- $125,713.00/year. This range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate’s qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications.
