Legal Assistant
Job Description
Our client, a Madison area law firm, is seeking a legal assistant with a minimum of three years of business legal experience. Candidates with general business, contracts, real estate, finance, or banking experience are encouraged to apply. This is a direct hire position with the possibility of a hybrid work schedule once trained. The firm offers a generous benefits package.
Responsibilities:* Monitor compliance requirements, contingency deadlines, and status
* Draft, proof, and format documents
* Maintain and update client files, including corporate records
* Provide support throughout transactions, including due diligence and document preparation
* Communicate with clients
* Manage attorney schedules, deadlines, and appointments
* Record documents with county register of deeds offices
* File documents (UCCs, articles of incorporation/organization, annual reports) with the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions
* Work with title companies to obtain title work and coordinate closings
* Prepare closing transcripts
* Assist with timekeeping, billing, and processing invoices in coordination with the accounting departmentQualifications:* A minimum of 3 years legal experience.
