About the Camp: Located in the beautiful woods of Harrison, Maine, our camp is a traditional, all-girls sleep-away camp that offers a warm, supportive, and spirited community for girls ages 7–15. With a strong emphasis on creativity, independence, and personal growth, we offer a wide range of activities—from the arts and athletics to outdoor adventure. Our staff plays a vital role in creating a fun, safe, and empowering experience for every camper. About the Role: We are seeking a passionate and skilled Director of Silver to lead our silversmithing department for the 2026 summer season (June 15 - August 16). This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, loves teaching young people, and excels in a collaborative, community-focused camp environment. You will be responsible for designing and teaching age-appropriate jewelry (and other silver-related projects)-making and teaching lessons for campers ages 7–15, managing one assistant, and maintaining a safe, well-organized workspace. This is a leadership role that reports to the Head Counselor, Program Director, and Camp Directors. Key Responsibilities: Teach silversmithing techniques, including sawing, soldering, shaping, and jewelry design. Create engaging, age-appropriate projects and lessons for campers of varying skill levels. Supervise and mentor one assistant staff member in the Silver department. Set up and organize the Silver department at the start of the summer during our staff orientation. Maintain tools, supplies, and equipment throughout the season Track and manage inventory and materials Complete an end-of-summer department report Ensure a safe and positive environment for all campers Be an active member of our camp community and participate in non-silver related camp-wide activities. Qualifications: Must have hands-on experience making jewelry using silver and other metals Prior experience working with children is required Experience teaching silversmithing or jewelry-making is a strong plus Previous experience managing or supervising others is a plus Must be organized, safety-conscious, and creative Compensation & Perks: Salary: Based on experience Room and board provided (includes meals and laundry) Travel stipend provided Use of Silver Studio during your free time for your own projects and artwork.
