Location: Houston, TXSalary: $55.00 USD Hourly - $60.00 USD HourlyDescription: Controls Engineer - SIS / Data ValidationLocation: Major Industrial Facility - Gulf Coast RegionWork Model: Hybrid (4 days onsite / 1 day remote)Contract Duration: 9-month contract (extension possible)Role OverviewA Controls Engineer is needed to support Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) validation and data quality initiatives within a large, highly regulated industrial environment. This role focuses on automated Digital Cause & Effect (DiCE) metrics population, Cause & Effect (C&E) documentation validation, and comprehensive control system tag verification across multiple data sources.A formal degree is not required; however, candidates with this level of experience typically have some technical or engineering education.Key ResponsibilitiesDigital Cause & Effect (DiCE) Metrics & Data ValidationPopulate and maintain automated DiCE metrics tables using established templates, rules, and validation criteriaClean, organize, and transform large datasets to ensure accurate and reliable metrics reportingPerform consistency and integrity checks across multiple data sources to verify alignmentTrack progress against defined validation milestones and provide regular status updates to project leadershipCause & Effect (C&E) Documentation ReviewPerform detailed, tag-by-tag comparisons between C&E documentation and reference materials (e.g., instrument lists, I/O lists, logic narratives)Identify and document discrepancies such as:Missing or extra tagsNaming inconsistenciesDuplicate recordsIncorrect logic or association mappingsLog findings in structured tracking tools with clear, repeatable evidence to support resolution SIS & Controls Tag ValidationValidate SIS and control system tags for completeness, accuracy, and consistency across documentation and control systemsExecute repeatable validation checks across large document sets to support enterprise-scale validation effortsEscalate unresolved or complex discrepancies to senior SIS or controls engineers with concise summaries, impact assessments, and supporting documentationRequired QualificationsStrong Excel and data-centric skill set, particularly with large and complex datasetsHigh attention to detail with the ability to perform repetitive validation tasks accurately and consistentlyStrong organizational skills with a structured approach to documentation and issue trackingClear written communication skills for technical issue logging and progress reportingPrior exposure to SIS, controls engineering, DCS/PLC systems, or instrumentation environments is strongly preferredBy providing your phone number, you consent to: (1) receive automated text messages and calls from the Judge Group, Inc. and its affiliates (collectively "Judge") to such phone number regarding job opportunities, your job application, and for other related purposes.
