The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC design and a passion for delivering high-quality engineering solutions. This role involves leading HVAC projects, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring the successful completion of projects on time and within budget.Key ResponsibilitiesInput of data into computer programsPerforms basic design calculationsDesign and layout of basic project elementsResearch code requirementsDraft designs he/she has originated or provided by lead Engineer or DesignerAssists in preparing studies and reportsBecome familiar with discipline technical specificationsPerforms basic fieldwork, surveys, and research to document existing conditionsAdditional Duties May IncludeIs assigned to a project team and is under supervision of project’s discipline lead EngineerPrepares studies, reports, opinions, and recommendations for the approval of the project lead EngineerMake recommendations regarding basic systemsPerforms design calculations and makes basic design layouts required in the projection of a complete set of working drawingsMay assist lead Engineer in design of more complex system elementsResearches code requirementsAssist in the preparation of opinions of probable construction costsConsults with public agencies and other organizations concerning utilities, design requirement and required approvalsMay assist lead Engineer or Construction Services Representative during construction by reviewing shop drawings, responding to informational request, preparing addendums and/or bulletins and making site visits.May delegate drafting tasks of designs he/she has originated to discipline BIM technicians and supervise production of sameMay coordinate discipline components and design with other project team membersRequirementsQualifications & ExperienceMinimum of a 2-year degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology3+ years of experience as a plumbing designer in the MEP industry Ability to remain current with discipline state-of-the-art designAbility to learn and become knowledgeable in various codes and regulations concerning disciplineIntermediate written and oral communication skillsIntermediate to advanced level working with AutoCAD, BIM, REVIT, and Microsoft Office365What We OfferBarton Associates is dedicated to the well-being and financial security of our employee-owners.
