Treatment Court Coordinator
JOB SUMMARY
The Treatment Court Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day administration, coordination, and operational oversight of the Treatment Court program. This position ensures program compliance with state and federal standards, facilitates collaboration among justice and treatment partners, and supports the court in achieving participant accountability, rehabilitation, and public safety outcomes.
This is a nonunion position that is appointed by and serves at the discretion of the President Judge.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Illustrative Only)
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
· Conduct risk assessments, screen applicants and evaluate eligibility criteria for the Bedford County Treatment Court.
· Help coordinate services for treatment court participants.
· Coordinate daily operations of the Treatment Court program in accordance with established policies, procedures, and best practices.
· Prepare reports for Treatment Court meetings.
· Serve as the primary liaison between the court, probation, prosecution, defense, treatment providers, law enforcement, and community partners.
· Attend Treatment Court team meetings, present relevant participant information and make recommendations as to sanctions and incentives.
· Provide consultation to Treatment Court participants and make appropriate referrals to other agencies as necessary.
· Attend court sessions and present testimony when required.
· Maintain accurate participant records, data entry, case tracking, and compliance monitoring.
· Prepare and submit statistical and performance data to the Problem-Solving Adult & Juvenile Courts Information System (PAJCIS) .
· Research funding options and assists with the completion of grant applications/reports
· Help to create policies and procedures related to Treatment Court and Probation with Restrictive Conditions.
· Attend various conferences and training courses pertaining to Treatment Court, addiction, mental health and treatment as needed.
· Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with individuals and agencies concerned with the rehabilitation of Treatment Court participants.
· Develop and update participant handbooks for Treatment Court.
· Organize orientation sessions for new participants and provide ongoing program information.
· Support fidelity to evidence-based practices and applicable treatment court standards.
· Maintain confidentiality of participant information in accordance with law and policy.
· Perform related duties as assigned by the court.
COMPETENCY
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
· Ability to comprehend and interpret a variety of documents including court documents, violation reports, PSI reports, Pre-parole reports, diagnostic reports, job applications, vacation requests, training manuals, PBPP Standards Manual, legal journals, criminal and vehicle codes, policy and procedure manuals, etc.
· Ability to prepare a variety of documents including annual reports, performance evaluations, progress and scheduling charts, etc. using prescribed format and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style.
· Ability to record and deliver information, explain procedures, and follow instructions.
· Ability to use and interpret legal and personnel-related terminology.
· Ability to communicate effectively with clients, trainees, supervisors, parole officers, Judges, attorneys, district attorneys, local, federal and state police and other law enforcement officers, Clerk of Courts, Domestic Relations, Children and Youth, Prothonotary, Corrections, Court Administrator, Human Resources, and other County offices, drug and alcohol rehabilitation service providers, physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, community resource agencies, employers, Department of Public Welfare and Social Security personnel, the public, and others both verbally and in writing.
· Ability to make decisions on cases independently and with mature judgment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to complete the job requirements. A minimum of 12 hours of training is required annually.
1. Language Skills – Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, and follow simple oral and written directions.
2. Computer Skills – Ability to operate a variety of office equipment including a personal computer, calculator, photocopier, fax machine, smart phones, videoconferencing equipment and other technology that enhances overall office operations.
3. Environment Adaptability – Ability to work effectively in an office environment. Ability to do work in the community/institutional setting and in an environment of possible physical danger.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers; feel, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is mostly working in an office environment.
