Position: M/E Engineer 3 – ElectricalLocation: Kansas City, Missouri (Job Site: DeSoto, Kansas)Employment Type: Full-TimeWork Model: Onsite (Full-time at project job site)The M/E Engineer 3 – Electrical is responsible for performing increasingly complex mechanical and electrical engineering and field construction activities on assigned projects. This role involves collecting and assembling technical data, developing cost estimates, conducting systems and bid analysis, and supporting construction activities from preconstruction through commissioning.The engineer will collaborate with project teams to ensure projects meet quality, safety, scheduling, and performance expectations while supporting engineering and construction coordination.This role also contributes to constructability reviews, commissioning, scheduling coordination, and quality control , ensuring mechanical and electrical systems are implemented effectively and efficiently.Key ResponsibilitiesEngineering & PreconstructionDevelop budgetary mechanical and electrical estimates based on schematic and program design information.Review mechanical and electrical system options and recommend optimal system solutions.Perform systems analysis and value engineering to improve project efficiency and cost effectiveness.Assist in preparing mechanical and electrical scopes of work for subcontractor bidding.Participate in bid evaluation and subcontractor selection processes .Construction SupportCoordinate mechanical and electrical activities during construction phases.Develop system sequencing and scheduling strategies to support project timelines.Conduct job site inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.Review shop drawings and submittals before submission to the design team.Identify potential constructability and quality issues within design documents.Commissioning & Quality ControlDevelop pre-functional checklists and functional testing procedures .Support commissioning activities and verify contractor performance during functional testing.Generate commissioning plans and documentation for project stakeholders.Track and verify correction of deficiencies before final system approval.Process Improvement & Team CollaborationDevelop innovative tools and methods to improve engineering workflows and construction processes .Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge sharing within the team.Collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, and external stakeholders to achieve project success.Required QualificationsEducationBachelor's Degree in:Electrical EngineeringMechanical EngineeringArchitectural EngineeringRelated Engineering Discipline(Equivalent experience may be considered in place of formal education.)Experience5+ years of construction and/or engineering experienceExperience supporting mechanical/electrical systems within construction projectsRequired SkillsAbility to interpret construction drawings, plans, and specificationsKnowledge of construction management methods and project delivery processesExperience supporting preconstruction and commissioning activitiesStrong problem-solving and analytical abilitiesEffective communication and teamwork skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office toolsAdditional RequirementsValid and unrestricted driver's license requiredAbility to work full-time onsite at the project site in DeSoto, KansasWillingness to travel occasionally as neededRecruiter Submission Template:Full Name:Degree Major with University and Completion Year:Years of Construction / Field Engineering Experience:Experience with Mechanical & Electrical Systems in Construction Projects:Experience with Estimating or Bid Analysis:Experience Reviewing Construction Drawings & Specifications:Experience with Commissioning or Functional Testing:Proficiency with Construction Engineering Tools or Software:Valid Driver's License: Yes / NoMotivation / Reason for Relocation (if not local):Motivation / Reason for interest in this position:Contact Number:Email ID:LinkedIn Profile URL:Full Address (Street, City, State, Zip Code):Notice Period (in weeks):Current Work Authorization Status:Expected Salary:Are you able to relocate on your own expenses and work 100% ON-SITE in Kansas City, Missouri?
