Primary Job Title: Senior AccountantLocation: Lake Mary, FL, USOnsite Flexibility: 100% onsiteShift Hours: Monday - Friday, Daytime hours 8 AM - 5 PMContract Details:Position Type: ContractStart: ASAPJob Summary: Our client is seeking an interim Senior Accountant to support stabilization efforts within its Record to Report (RTR) function. This is a critical, high-visibility engagement that requires a candidate who can onboard quickly and take full ownership of month-end close responsibilities with minimal ramp-up time. The team operates on an accelerated three-day month-end close cycle. As such, only candidates with demonstrated experience in high-velocity, high-volume close environments and a proven ability to document, standardize, and improve accounting processes should be considered.Key Responsibilities:Own high-volume journal entry preparation and posting within a 3-day close cyclePrepare and certify balance sheet account reconciliations across multiple GL areasExecute accruals, prepaids, intercompany, and non-routine close entries under deadline pressureDocument current-state processes and develop standard operating procedures (SOPs)Identify and implement process improvements that drive measurable outcomes—including reduced close cycle time, elimination of manual effort, improved accuracy, or cost savingsOperate within Sage ERP for transactional accounting, reporting, and reconciliation activitiesCore Requirements - Must-Haves:Experience:5-7 years in accounting; senior-level tenure requiredClose Experience:3-7 day or equivalent compressed close; high-volume journal entries & recsERP:Sage ERP hands-on experience required, broader ERP familiarity a plusMicrosoft Tools:Power Query, Power BI, Power Automate, or similar automation tools a plus (not required)Process Improvement:Demonstrated experience improving processes that reduced cycle time, eliminated manual effort, improved accuracy, or generated measurable cost savingsEducation:Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CPA candidate preferredIdeal Candidate Profile:Brings both deep accounting fundamentals and systems/process improvement mindsetExperienced in documenting accounting processes with rigor - including SOPs, workflow maps and desktop proceduresComfortable operating independently with minimal transition support and ramp-up timeAvailable to start immediately and prepared to operate at full capacity within a short onboarding windowHas worked in a high-velocity and high-volume close environmentBenefit:Medical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans401k Retirement FundAbout the Company: Global Healthcare InnovatorWe're a leading healthcare company dedicated to improving lives worldwide.
