Our portfolio includes a wide array of reputable brands like Marriott, Hilton, IHG and Hyatt as well as many unique, independent, boutique and lifestyle properties and restaurants.Position OverviewThe Culinary Intern position offers a structured, hands on learning experience with exposure to multiple outlets and service styles, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and banquet operations. Interns will work closely with culinary leadership to develop technical skills, operational awareness, and an understanding of high level hospitality standards.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain high sanitation standards throughout all areas of responsibilityEnsure all food storage areas are clean, organized, and properly maintainedProperly handle, label, and store food items at the conclusion of each shiftFollow proper inventory rotation proceduresPrepare food according to established specifications for all service periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and banquetsMaintain clean and organized storage areas and appropriate product parsWork with culinary leadership to assist in developing daily specials and menu variationsPerform additional duties as assigned EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEMinimum of High School education preferredPrevious experience in a similar role requiredKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESBasic understanding of or the ability to learn basic sanitation and regulations for workplace safety.Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writingKnowledge of food preparation health and safety guidelinesAbility to work flexible hours and shiftsAbility to multi-taskTeam player*The hiring process may consist of a phone interview, manager(s) interview, drug screen, background check, reference checks, and potential employment assessment.
