Feel free to enrich both your personal and work life and hop on board!Why you'll love this job This job is a member of the Base Maintenance Team within the Integrated Operations Division.Responsible for oversight and managing the aircraft maintenance workload, resources, and activities for terminal and/or hangar operations at maintenance stations in such a manner as to assure continuing safety, compliance, dependability, reliability and financial performance, with fair and harmonious relationships with the management team, TWU, internal customers, vendors, FAA, and all non-AA business contacts.What you'll do Oversees the daily Production requirements through subordinatesProvides short and long term strategic direction for departmentCoaches and develops their team by providing feedback on performance and accountabilityBuilds, maintains, and strengthens relationships across all groups inside Technical Operations while looking for ways to remove barriersEnsures team members are following procedures in order to ensure maximum efficiency, compliance and safetyResponsible for control of budgets and cost standardsLeads management staff to ensure that team members skills are utilized to the highest degree possible; leads coordination with Maintenance Training to ensure on-going enhancement of staff and skill setProvides Leaders regular feedback on their performance and develops the management team to create a strong leadership pipelineConducts regular Business Reviews to ensure best possible communication, identification, and resolution of action itemsMonitors the coordination of maintenance manpower requirements overtime and consistency with program scheduling and prioritiesEnsures development, review and validation of maintenance requirements to ensure appropriate training for maintenance as well as leadership developmentEnsures team members know, understand and are engaged in achieving critical Metrics and key performance indicatorsDevelops LEAN Improvement StrategyManages hangar flow of maintenance aircraft such as scheduled maintenance, mods and drop-ins by shiftExecutes manpower deployment and shift production requirementsAll you'll need for success Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job ExperienceBachelor's degree in Business, Aeronautics or related field or equivalent experience/training3 years experience leading other supervisory management personnelExperience in positions requiring budget understanding, resource forecasting and management and workload planning in maintenance environments5 years Aircraft Maintenance Operations or compliance equivalent experienceExperience managing, supervising and/or leading workgroupsPreferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience3 years leadership experienceLean, Continuous Improvement or Six Sigma experienceSkills, Licenses & CertificationsA&P LicenseExcellent understanding of airline/technical operationsKnowledge of audit requirementsKnowledge of labor reporting and crew utilizationStrong interpersonal and PC skillsAbility to concurrently manage multiple areas of responsibilityExcellent analytical, organization and planning skillsMust pass a background reference check and criminal fingerprint checkStrong process analysis/development skillsKnowledge of the GPM and SPPMSome travel may be requiredWhat you'll get Feel free to take advantage of all that American Airlines has to offer:Travel Perks: Ready to explore the world?
