Production Manager – Engineered Solutions (Lean Manufacturing)

Since 1802, we have been embracing innovations and sustainable solutions of the highest quality that add value to people’s lives around the globe.Join us to be part of a forward-thinking, people-centered company where your ideas and contributions truly matter.This is your opportunity to make a real impact in a collaborative, international environment.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesLead production execution for engineered‑to‑order valve assemblies, actuator packages, process water skids, and other customized solutions, ensuring on‑time, on‑quality, and on‑cost delivery.Plan and coordinate cross‑functional activities across engineering, supply chain, quality, and shop operations to translate customer specifications into manufacturable, executable work orders.Drive operational excellence through standardized work, capacity planning, LEAN manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement focused on safety, throughput, and first‑pass yield.Ensure compliance and quality by enforcing drawings, specifications, testing requirements, and applicable standards (e.g., ISO, UL, CE, customer‑specific requirements).Develop and manage production teams, including supervisors and technicians, by setting clear performance expectations, building technical capability, and fostering a culture of accountability and problem‑solving.Required Skills/AbilitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsAbility to gain buy in and support of colleagues to successfully accomplish projects.Demonstrated success driving on‑time delivery, labor efficiency, and first‑pass yield in high‑mix, low‑volume operations.Experience coordinating cross‑functionally with engineering, supply chain, quality, and project management to execute engineered orders.Working knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principles, standardized work, daily management systems, and root‑cause problem solving.Practical experience using ERP systems (SAP preferred) for production orders, backflushing, labor reporting, and material control.Experience operating within quality and compliance frameworks (ISO 9001, UL, CE, customer audits, FAT/SAT).Track record of building team capability, improving process discipline, and leading continuous improvement initiatives in a production setting.Education And Experience8+ years of experience in industrial or engineered‑to‑order manufacturing environments producing valves, actuators, packaged equipment, or process skids.Proven experience managing production of customized solutions, including assembly, integration, testing, and documentation to customer specifications.3–5+ years of people leadership experience managing supervisors, leads, and skilled technicians in a shop or production environment.Strong hands‑on experience interpreting engineering drawings, BOMs, routings, and test procedures.Lean / Six Sigma training or certification (preferred)Working Conditions / Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.The employee is frequently required to sit.The employee is occasionally required to stand and walkThe employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
