AS400 Developer

As/400 (Iseries/Ibm I) DeveloperWe are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented AS/400 (iSeries/IBM i) Developer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting applications on the AS/400 platform. This includes coding in RPG (RPGLE/Free), CL, and DB2/400, as well as understanding business processes and translating them into technical solutions.Key Responsibilities:Design, develop, test, and maintain applications on the AS/400 platform using RPG (RPGLE, Free RPG), CL, and DDS.Analyze business requirements and create technical unit and integration testing; support QA and UAT phases.Provide production support and resolve issues in a timely manner.Participate in application enhancements, bug fixes, and performance tuning.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts, QA, and other developers.Prepare and maintain technical documentation for all code changes.Work with DB2/400 databases including queries, tables, triggers, and stored procedures.Required Skills and Qualifications:Strong experience in RPG (IV, RPGLE, Free RPG), CL/CLLE, and DDS.Experience with DB2/400, SQL, and database design concepts.Understanding of IBM iSeries (AS/400) architecture and tools (SEU, SDA, RLU, PDM, etc.).Knowledge of job scheduling, system utilities, and message handling on IBM i.Proficient in debugging and performance tuning of to work independently and in a team environment.Good analytical and problem-solving skills.Preferred Qualifications:Exposure to modernization tools (e.g., Web services, APIs, Node.js, Java integration with AS/400).Familiarity with Change Management tools like TurnOver, Aldon, or similar.Experience in Agile/Scrum development environments.
