Sanmina Corporation has facilities strategically located in key regions throughout the world.SMT Process EngineerJob Purpose:This position will support our SMT medical device production in Sanmina's Medical Manufacturing Center of Excellence in Carrollton. Candidate will be required to interface with customers and participate in customer meetings. Candidate must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability work well with other members of the technical and production staff including the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical personnel.Nature of Duties:Support manufacturing for surface mount electronics (SMT) and through hole solderingSpecifying new equipment and evaluation of new equipment, processes, and materialsGenerating post build/DFM report and presenting to customersComponent analysisFailure AnalysisReview customer engineering change orders and deviations and apply to the processWork with the quote group to quote new assembliesProcess Improvement/Process Development for SMTReview customer returned materialsYields review, development of corrective action and implementation of corrective actionsTraining of production personnelGenerate process documentationNew product introduction and developmentFlexibility and the initiative to take on other roles/processes outside of the SMT area as neededEducation and Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering or equivalentMinimum 2 years experience supporting manufacturingMedical manufacturing experience and familiarity with ISO 13485 a plusWorking knowledge of IPC-A-610 Solder Requirements - IPC Solder Certification is a plusWorking knowledge of ISO 9001 standard for a quality management system (QMS)Working knowledge of 5S Lean Six Sigma practicesExperience in executing process optimization including process engineeringExcellent problem solver and ability to generate innovative solutions to broad range of issuesAbility to explain complex technical issues to other functions in clear and understandable termsAbility to meet aggressive program deliverables.Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with MS OfficeAdvanced skills in MS Excel is a plus, including creating formulas, macros, and chartingExperience in Agile and Oracle applications is a plusAbility to follow oral and written guidelinesExcellent communication skills (both verbal and written)Organized and detail orientedHas willingness to learn, takes initiative, and offers improvement ideasSanmina is an Equal Opportunity Employer - M/F/Veteran/Disability/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity
