This role involves troubleshooting electro-mechanical equipment and controls (PLC, SCADA, field device networks), coordinating with remote support, and advising on system optimization. Key duties include monitoring system performance, documenting service activities in CMMS, managing spare parts and inventory, and providing training when needed. The technician also supports operations, proposes quality improvements, develops service tools, and upholds strict safety practices. Flexibility is essential, as the position requires on-site customer support, national travel, and participation in scheduled or on-call rotations to meet business needs.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and execute service calls, preventive, emergency, and corrective maintenanceReport and document internal and customer service requestsAdvise and execute optimization of material handling systemsCoordinate resolution support efforts with remote support services for controls related issues (PLC, SCADA, etc.)Analyze system performance and the operator influenceMonitor material handling systems prior to and after changes have been implementedPropose improvements for the quality of material handling systemsDevelop service supporting tools and new ways of workingPerform preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance work ordersTroubleshoot system issues related electro-mechanical equipment, controls (PLC, SCADA, etc.) and field device networks (ASi Bus, Profi-Bus, etc.).Research and request spare parts as requiredAssist operations as requiredProvide maintenance training as necessaryComplete CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) service reports, parts consumption and warranty recordsExercise safe working practice at all timesReport on‑site to assigned local customer sites when not scheduled for national travel, ensuring consistent support coverage and responsiveness.Participate in on‑call or scheduled rotations as required to meet business and customer needs.Participate in scheduled on‑call rotations, including after‑hours, weekend, or holiday support, with the ability to respond remotely or on site as required.)Compliance with cybersecurity or access policiesProtection of credentials and system accessRequirements5+ years material handing experience with troubleshooting mechanical, electrical and controls (PLC, SCADA, etc.) componentsExperience troubleshooting Variable Frequency Drives, Frequency Inverters and Motor StartersExperience with troubleshooting field device networks such as ASi Bus, Profi-Bus, Profi-Net, etc.Other RequirementsAbility to pass 10-year background checks to the extent required by TSA and airport authorities is required.
