Quality Assurance Technician
Join New Flyer, North America's leader in heavy-duty transit buses, as a Quality Assurance Technician. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the highest standards of quality across our bus manufacturing processes. You will work closely with production teams, installers, and customer inspectors to maintain compliance with our quality control systems and meet customer expectations. We currently have openings for both the first and second shifts. The work schedules are as follows:1st Shift - Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with the possibility for mandatory overtime Monday through Thursday until 5:30 PM, and every other Saturday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.2nd Shift - Monday to Thursday, 3:00 PM to 1:30 AM, with the possibility of mandatory overtime every other Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM.Key Responsibilities:Inspection of production processes in manufacturing of assemblies and sub-assembliesRead blueprints and use a variety of testing and measuring instrumentsPrepare written reports of all defects and submit to the production supervisors in a timely mannerComplete knowledge of the specifications and customer requirementsAssist the production supervisors and production personnel with any problems or difficulties which arise from specification, drawings and customer requirementsWork directly with customers' inspection personnel in a courteous mannerPerform all inspections on the coach and ensure inspection reports are completePerform the release process and sale of coachEnsure that ISO 9001 Quality Assurance procedures are followedFollow up with vendors on non conformance issues and audit completion, this is to include first article inspectionsFollows quality issues from identification through corrective action and follow up auditingFull knowledge of coach functions and can inspect to themFull knowledge and execution of rejectsPerform receiving inspections and warehouse auditsPerform all functions of SQA dealing with SCA reports, product review, auditing, corrective action, follow upComplete special assignments as requiredComplete work cell items and containment actions in a timely manner as they occurMust be able to train other Technicians in QA processesMust Maintain the 5S requirements as they apply to your jobMust be able to attain CDL LicensureRequirementsQualifications:Strong ability to read blueprints and use precision testing and measuring instrumentsPrior experience in a quality assurance role or similar manufacturing environment is preferredSolid understanding of quality systems for driving improvementsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to effectively manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environmentProficient in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPointCapable of performing tasks independently with minimal supervisionExperience with Oracle database systems is a plusA valid driver's license is preferred; obtaining a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a passenger endorsement is considered an assetPhysical Activity/Requirements Ability to bend, stoop, and reach regularly Ability to climb up and down steps, as well as work using a ladder.
