Summary: The Commissioning Superintendent is responsible for overseeing general safety, productivity, schedule, testing, and commissioning of utility level solar generation facilities. This position reports to the Commissioning Manager or a manager designated by the CEO. This is a hybrid position: you will work from home office and project sites, with working hours determined by project requirements. Travel up to 50% may be required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct solar commissioning personnel and/or subcontractors to achieve completion of the project
Support the project team with planning and utilization of proper means and methods for activities
Follow and implement the company’s Health, Safety & Environmental Policy
Coordinate and implement resources and activities necessary to maintain safety and quality
Create and maintain commissioning documentation in accordance with contract requirements
Assure that all work undertaken is within approved scope boundaries and in full compliance
Coordinate with supplier testing & commissioning teams
Identify testing required per project scope of work and ITP
Communicate with engineering parties to meet commissioning requirements
Maintain regular attendance in accordance with company’s attendance policy and supervisory assignment
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by Management
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 4 years of professional experience supporting construction of major projects, preferably power stations or supply networks, or other utility‑scale construction projects
Solar PV and/or BESS project commissioning experience
Willingness to travel
Experience with Procore or comparable project management tool
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience reviewing electrical drawings and manuals of installation and design technical packages
Attention to detail
Ability to professionally interact with clients and outside testing agencies/subcontractors
Experience operating solar generation facility electrical equipment
Experience with energization procedures and operations of substation equipment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Frequent standing and moving up to 90% of the time in an 8‑10 hour work day
Operate equipment and enter/exit equipment up to 90% of the time in an 8‑10 hour work day
Frequently bend, stand, stoop and/or walk
Frequently carry weight and/or lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds
Frequent stationary position up to 90% of the time and sitting up to 8 hours in a day
Infrequent bending, standing, stooping and walking
Infrequent carrying weight and/or lifting objects weighing up to 10 pounds
Frequent hearing and speaking with ability to exchange accurate information
Frequent sight to detect images on computer and documents
Occasional climbing stairways to upper and lower floors
Travel up to 50% as needed
LOCATION & CLIMATE CONDITIONS
Industrial construction sites and/or fabrication shop
Predominantly outdoor climate, may be exposed to extreme hot or cold weather, excessive humidity, rain, etc.
Various noise levels from tools, machinery, equipment, etc.
Potential exposure to chemical substances, hazardous equipment
