Job DescriptionInova Mt Vernon Hospital is seeking an experienced Emergency Room RN Unit Supervisor to join our Emergency Dept. Eligible Nurses will qualify for sign on & relocation bonuses.Full-Time, Evening shift (3pm - 3am). We have earned this important recognition every year since 2014.The Veatch Family Emergency Department is a state-of-the-art facility featuring 35 all-private treatment rooms, new "fast track" rooms to treat less serious injuries, improved ambulance access, new cardiac emergency rooms and a specialized pediatric treatment area among its many amenities.Featured Benefits:Committed to Team Member Health: offering medical, dental and vision coverage, and a robust team member wellness program.Retirement: Inova matches the first 5% of eligible contributions - starting on your first day.Tuition and Student Loan Assistance: offering up to $5,250 per year in education assistance and up to $10,000 for student loans.Mental Health Support: offering all Inova team members, their spouses/partners, and their children 25 mental health coaching or therapy sessions, per person, per year, at no cost.Work/Life Balance: offering paid time off, paid parental leave, and flexible work schedules.Emergency Room Registered Nurse Unit Supervisor Responsibilities:Conducts high quality shift huddles by communicating strategic priorities related to target, actual and gap barriers in addition to small tests of change, results of rounding, challenges, celebrations and other mattersConducts effective safety huddles and conducts or appropriately delegates all environmental and safety rounding and conducts and ensures that Patient, Medical Director and RN rounding is completed for areas of responsibilityRounds on staff continually and serves to remove or escalate barriers to providing quality care while enhancing staff engagementReviews core measures, key performance indicators and other metrics relevant to unit/patient populations and participates in the analysis of unit-based service outcomes as well as development of action plans that lead to systematic improvements in outcomesMinimum Qualifications:Experience: Requires a minimum of one year of Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting.Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing OR Associate Degree RNs that are within one year of completing their BSN.License: Must be RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as an RN.Certification: BLS from American Heart Association upon start.Inova RN Unit Supervisor and Charge Nurse Training within 3 months.Proficient in English.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor toward othersProficient computer skills required.Preferred Qualifications:Strongly prefer 2 year plus of ED RN experience.Previous management/direct supervisor experience strongly preferred.CEN/ACLS certification desired.About UsWe are Inova, Northern Virginia's leading nonprofit healthcare provider.
