What You'll Do
As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at Parkland, you'll play a key role in delivering advanced diagnostic imaging and radionuclide therapy while working in a fast-paced, collaborative clinical environment. In this role, you will:
Perform nuclear medicine procedures and ensure accurate, high-quality imaging while following established clinical protocols.
Conduct quality control testing, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance on nuclear medicine equipment to maintain the highest standards of safety and performance.
Collaborate closely with physicians to determine the most appropriate imaging procedures for each patient.
Maintain accurate documentation for laboratory operations, including radioactive material handling, quality control data, and patient procedure records.
Exercise clinical judgment to ensure all studies are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory and departmental guidelines.
Identify opportunities to improve workflows and enhance the experience of patients, physicians, and care teams.
Support the education and development of radiology students and residents by providing clinical guidance and sharing expertise.
Stay current with advancements in nuclear medicine by participating in professional development, maintaining required licensure, and engaging with professional organizations.
Build strong working relationships with physicians, nurses, residents, and colleagues to support coordinated patient care.
Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies related to nuclear medicine practice.

Education
Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program, or a related allied health field.
Experience
Open to technologists at all experience levels-from new graduates to experienced professionals.
Certifications & Licensure
Active permanent or temporary Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification from the Texas Medical Board.
ARRT (N) or CNMT certification required within 6 months of hire.
Current BLS (Healthcare Provider) certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network, or obtained during Parkland orientation.
Skills & Expertise
Strong knowledge of nuclear medicine principles, including the chemistry, physics, mathematics, and biomedical sciences that support advanced imaging.
Ability to administer intramuscular and intravenous injections and establish IV access.
Experience or familiarity with nuclear medicine imaging systems, including Gamma cameras, SPECT/CT, and PET/CT scanners, as well as nuclear medicine processing systems and cardiac stress testing equipment.
Basic understanding of EKG monitoring for cardiac imaging studies.
Foundational knowledge of nuclear medicine therapeutic treatments.
