Description:At LifeMed Alaska, every flight, mile, and patient mattersand so does the financial engine that supports it.Were seeking a Controller who understands that in air medical and EMS operations, revenue cycle management is mission critical. This is a hands-on leadership role at the intersection of operations, clinical care, dispatch, and billingensuring every transport is accurately captured, coded, and reimbursed.Youll lead financial accounting and reporting while providing oversight of revenue cycle performance, partnering closely with our third-party billing team to monitor accuracy, trends, and collections for both air and ground transports.If you have experience in air ambulance, EMS billing, or complex healthcare RCM environments, you know the details matterand this role is where they make an impact.What Youll OwnFinancial Leadership & OversightYou will lead all accounting operations including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, fixed assets, and month-end close, ensuring GAAP-compliant practices and strong internal controls.Youll produce timely financial statements, variance analyses, and management dashboards that leadership and the Board can rely on.You will oversee department budgeting and provide financial insight that informs strategic decisions.Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) LeadershipThis is where you make impact.You will oversee the end-to-end billing and collections process for all transport segments for Air, Rotor, and Ground.Youll partner with dispatch and clinical teams to validate flight logs, mileage, medical necessity, and payer responsibility.Youll monitor KPIs including transports, charges, collections, AR aging, DSO, denial rates, underpayments, and payer mix.Youll lead continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen workflows, optimize reimbursement, and reduce denials.You will ensure LifeMed maximizes revenue opportunities through coordination with billing and compliance.Financial Planning & StrategyYoull develop the annual budget and rolling forecast processes.Youll provide weekly and monthly operational performance reporting to leadership and the Board.Youll deliver rate modeling, segment performance analysis, cost analysis, and RCM-driven insights to support pricing strategy and payer negotiations.Audit & ComplianceYoull coordinate with external auditors and tax partners and ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations.Leadership & CollaborationYoull lead and mentor accounting team members.Youll serve as a strategic partner to operations, clinical leadership, dispatch, and administrative teams.Youll improve systems, automation, and processes across finance and RCM.Who You AreYou are analytical and detail-driven, but you also see the bigger picture.Youre comfortable in fast-paced, high-accountability environments.You communicate clearly with clinical leaders and finance teams alike.You dont just report numbers, you explain what they mean and what to do next.Why This Role MattersIn Alaska, transports arent optional.
