Freelancer Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Java Backend Developer to design, develop, and operate scalable, customer-facing applications in a modern microservices and DevOps environment. You will contribute to large-scale digital platforms, working within a cloud-native architecture and supporting end-to-end delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain Java-based microservices (with Node.js exposure where applicable)
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
- Participate in software design, architecture, and implementation
- Perform testing, debugging, and end-to-end (E2E) validation
- Operate and maintain applications within a DevOps model
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
- Provide updates and support project planning
Must-Have:
- Skills (3+ years each)
- DevOps: Linux containers, GitLab CI/CD, GitOpsMonitoring: Grafana, Prometheus, OpenSearchArchitecture: Microservices, Kafka (event streaming), Kubernetes, AWSDevelopment: Java and/or JavaScript (Node.js)
- Testing: End-to-end (E2E) testing (creation, execution, documentation)
- German language proficiency (mandatory)
- Nice-to-HaveTest automation and quality assurance
- Databases: PostgreSQL, ArangoDB, OraclePython for data analysis
- Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
Tools: Jira and Confluence
