POSITION: Licensed Practical Nurse (10-month position)LOCATION: Current Location Assignment: Chateaugay Central SchoolDescriptionGathers data and assists with planning, implementation and evaluation of the health needs of students and staff;Administers medication and treatments per health care providers' orders and parental written authorization based on established guidelines and district policy;Follows communicable disease control procedures and informs and advises administration and/or parents regarding school exclusion and readmission;Provides care for student illnesses and accidents according to school policies and protocols;Completes accident and incident reports as needed;Consults with attendance officer regarding chronic absenteeism;Reviews immunization records for compliance with mandates;Participates in the management of the school health office by assisting with organizational structure, updating cumulative health records and immunization records and collecting statistical information according to district policies and procedures;Consults with Registered Professional Nurse regarding unusual or difficult problems;Assists the Registered Professional Nurse in the development of Individual Health Care Plans;Reports physical and sexual abuse and neglect of children as mandates by law;May maintain an inventory of health office supplies and equipment.Summer school employment may be available, if desired.GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS: Current and valid license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in New York StateSTARTING DATE: 5/11/2026SALARY: Hourly rate starting at $23.64 based on experienceBENEFITS: Membership in the appropriate retirement system.
