Kennel Attendant

POSITION SUMMARYKennel Attendant will provide care for canines in our Moyock facility.RESPONSIBILITIESMonitor health and well-being of dogsImmediately report any health or medical issues to Kennel SupervisorClean kennels, feeds, grooms, exercises, and administers medication(s) to dogsTransport dogs to the veterinarianCoordinate and transport students and K9s to and from the airport in support of training and operational requirementsComplete K-9 documentation as directedWork conditions can vary from a busy training environment tofield work, both subject to frequent interruptions. Frequent work outsideand ininclement weather conditions isrequired, including heat, cold, and humidity. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration.Normal work hours are Monday-Friday 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, however some extended or weekend hours may berequired, and the work schedule will vary.Other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONSHigh School DiplomarequiredPreviouskennel or veterinary experience notrequiredMustpossessvalid Driver's LicenseEffective oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organizationStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completionProblem solving skills with an analytical thought processAbility to adapt to a rapidly changing environmentVarious tasks may require intermittent standing or prolonged sittingAbility to walk, reach, kneel crouch and handle work related supplies and toolsAdditionaldetails related to physical requirements may be outlined in the Company's Performance Work Statement or Contract with the clientMust be able to lift and carryvarious itemsweighing up to 100 lbs. Requires standing forlong periodsof time in all weather conditions. Requires intermittent sitting, walking, running, climbing, squatting, stretching, bending, and kneeling.
