Job DescriptionThis position provides expert daily maintenance and repair support for kitchen equipment within a specific geographic area at Intermountain Healthcare.Kitchen equipment is specialized and frequently complex. The skill set to perform in-depth maintenance and complicated troubleshooting and repair is very specific and developed over many years. The person in this role will support on-site maintenance caregivers in performing advanced maintenance and repairs on all types of kitchen equipment.This position reports to the Facilities Programs Director and works directly with service line leaders and frontline caregivers in helping ensure compliance, adherence to required standards, and proper maintenance of kitchen equipment within their assigned area of the system.ScheduleMonday- Friday 7am-330pmFull TimeBenefits Eligible HIGHLY PREFERRED EPA HVAC CERT AND 3-5 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE*ScopeThis is a position with areawide responsibilities, supporting the kitchen equipment maintenance activities for Intermountain Healthcare and the ongoing maintenance and operation of kitchen equipment. The Kitchen Equipment Specialist works with service line leaders and frontline caregivers in all facilities within their assigned area that have kitchen equipment on site.As part of their routine duties, the Kitchen Equipment Specialist will support frontline maintenance caregivers in their work of performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing kitchen equipment. They will diagnose, plan for, order parts, and install parts in support of work needed to keep kitchen equipment available, safe, and functional.This position trains and educates frontline maintenance and nutrition services caregivers on their responsibilities relative to the equipment and on proper operation of the equipment.Job EssentialsThe Kitchen Equipment Specialist must understand a broad range of kitchen equipment, its proper function, its hardware components, and its maintenance. This person will stay current in understanding best practices, new technologies, and regulatory changes related to kitchen equipment in healthcare environments.The Kitchen Equipment Specialist must be able to use a wide variety of computer programs including PeopleSoft Maintenance Manager, Microsoft Office, and Intermountain’s business applications.This position requires a person who can work with customers in high-stress and ambiguous situations, while maintaining a positive and supportive demeanor. This person’s communication skills must be clear, concise, and well-developed, to include an understanding of the SBAR, STAR, and ARCC tools. They will also answer questions raised by stakeholders about the system, may represent the Maintenance Department in meetings about kitchen equipment, and participate in discussions about ongoing operations and planning.The Specialist must understand the basics of operational and capital finance and Intermountain’s processes for funding operations, tracking financial performance, and resolving financial problems.This position will require some travel and minimal overnight stays out of town.Minimum Qualifications5 years of kitchen equipment maintenance experience5 years of mechanical maintenance experience AND demonstrated aptitude to learn kitchen equipment maintenanceDemonstrated communication skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to influence, lead multiple teams, and manage conflicting or ambiguous prioritiesAbility to multi-task and be a member of a successful teamExperience using office computer programs, including word processing, spreadsheets, internet, and e-mailExperience in a role requiring effective verbal written and interpersonal communication skillsExperience with minor electrical work and the ability to understand electrical diagramsPreferred QualificationsKitchen equipment manufacturer’s maintenance certifications or trainingPhysical RequirementsSpeaking English, hearing/ listening, seeing, manual dexterityLifting up to 40 lbs. regularly, pushing, pulling, climbing, crawling, standing.Location:Intermountain Health Lutheran HospitalWork CityWheat RidgeWork StateColoradoScheduled Weekly Hours40The hourly range for this position is listed below.
