Delivery Manager - Design
Role Description
The Delivery Manager – Design provides leadership and oversight of Building Automation (BAS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) design projects (as an MEP consultant) supporting mission-critical facilities. This role leads a team of Project Managers, ensuring consistent delivery across multiple MEP design programs ranging from 20 MW to 200 MW+, covering BAS and EPMS design from concept through construction of the buildings.
This role will interact closely with Smart Tech BAS engineers and our consultant partners handling the other portions of MEP design.
The Delivery Manager – Design will be self-directed on day-to-day work and receive high level instruction on new projects, tasks or assignments. Will execute and lead teams and projects, tasks or assignments of complex scope. May coordinate activities of other personnel.
This person will communicate and operate in line with organizational goals and values, as well as departmental objectives.
Qualifications
Knowledge of MEP design and general requirements
Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in the construction of mission critical buildings
Skilled at using construction management software such as Procore or Autodesk Forma
Skilled in managing P&L responsibilities, reviewing change orders, and approving vendor/subcontractor agreements
Skilled in applying industry standards (Uptime Institute, NFPA, IEEE) to ensure compliance, reliability, and performance
Skilled in workforce planning, performance management, and succession readiness
Skilled in leading portfolio review meetings, resolving escalations, and aligning delivery with client objectives
Skilled at using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), along with exceptional organizational skills for file management
Skilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail
Ability to lead, coordinate, and monitor multiple concurrent projects
Ability to optimize financial performance while maintaining client satisfaction and quality standards
Ability to develop and implement effective mitigation strategies to safeguard delivery performance
Ability to foster a high-performance culture built on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Ability to build long-term partnerships that drive repeat business and strengthen market position

Ability to interpret AE construction drawings, standards documentation, submittals and product data sheets

Ability to communicate effectively directly with clients and at times serve as primary point of client contact
Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines
Ability to effectively plan and delegate the work of others
Requirements
Minimum of 8 years of project management experience, with at least 4 years managing multiple Project Managers or large delivery teams
MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) project management experience
