Technical Program Manager – Google Cloud Platform Modernization12 Month Contract (Possible Extension or Contract-to-HireLocation: Hybrid (Client located in Dallas, TX)Must be able to work on a W-2Must be local to Dallas, TXJob DescriptionWe are seeking experienced Technical Program Managers (TPMs) to support a large-scale Google Cloud Platform (GCP) modernization program spanning three workstreams: Data Delivery, AI/ML Insights, and Cross Workstream. TPMs will collaborate closely with internal workstream leads, technology partners, and executive stakeholders to drive program delivery, governance, and cross-program integration.Role SummaryTPMs will be embedded within the GCP PMO under the direction of the GCP Program Lead, aligned to a specific track (e.g., Data Delivery, AI/ML, Cross Program Integration, Infrastructure, or Google Transformation). Each TPM is responsible for end-to-end program management execution within their track and contributes to overall program governance, agile delivery cadence, and continuous improvement efforts.Reporting & Program HealthOwn and maintain Steerco decks including workstream status, KPI scorecards, RAID highlights, and dependency statusDevelop and publish weekly program health scorecards with RAG status (Scope, Schedule, Quality, Resources)Produce weekly workstream status reports in coordination with workstream leads and maintain effective multi-level status communicationPrepare monthly executive summaries for program sponsorsMaintain version-controlled program baselines updated after every major changeFinance & Resource ManagementTrack actuals vs. plan by workstream; ensure alignment to approved AOP budgetFlag and escalate budget variances and risks proactivelyGenerate and maintain project forecasts in PM systems, monitor resource needsFacilitate resource coordination and efficient allocation for well-supported teamsInter-Program IntegrationMaintain dependency register for other programs, including committed deliverables and datesOwn escalation path for delivery risks impacting downstream program timelinesDrive cross-program governance forum cadence and ownershipPromote cross-team collaboration to mitigate dependencies and foster integration and deliveryPlanning & Execution CadenceDevelop and maintain program management plan (kick-offs, milestone gates, execution rhythm)Drive sprint and release planning across all workstreams; advance agile methodologiesFacilitate quarterly planning and strategic dependency managementLead milestone gate reviews with clear Go / No-Go criteriaEnsure agile team alignment toward program goals; track and ensure follow-through on action itemsRAID ManagementMaintain risk register with scoring, mitigation ownership, and resolution datesManage active issue log, escalation path, and resolve impedimentsDocument and validate assumptions; maintain decision log with rationale and approversElevate cross-program risks and conduct weekly RAID reviews with timely escalationVendor & Quality ManagementManage and select external vendors; coordinate with delivery partnersOversee quality standards through testing and validationDrive continuous improvement in project management processes, tools, and methodologiesRequired Qualifications7+ years of experience in Technical Program Management leading complex, large-scale technology programs from conception to completionDemonstrated experience supporting GCP-based modernization programs in data, AI/ML, or infrastructure workstreamsStrong Tech Ops background: infrastructure operations, platform provisioning, IT operations deliveryExperience managing cross-functional programs with multiple workstreams and external vendorsExpertise in RAID, governance frameworks, and executive reportingExperience with budget tracking, financial management (AOP), project forecasting, and resource actualizationStrong facilitation and stakeholder management skills up to C-suite levelProven track record delivering large-scale projects with exceptional leadership across cross-functional teamsProficiency with program management tools: Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, or equivalentProficiency with AI tools (e.g., Claude or equivalent)Strong advocate for agile principles with hands-on experience driving agile delivery across teamsPreferred QualificationsExperience with GCP services: BigQuery, Looker, Spanner, Kong AI Gateway, or GML frameworksFamiliarity with ML pipeline delivery and BI modernization programsPMP, PgMP, or equivalent program management certificationExperience in managed services or MSP-driven delivery modelYou Will Receive The Following Benefits:Medical & Dental InsuranceHealth Savings Account (HSA)401(k)Paid Sick Time LeavePre-tax Commuter BenefitApplicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis now and in the future.Motion Recruitment provides IT Staffing Solutions (Contract, Contract-to-Hire, and Direct Hire) in major North American markets.
