Job Title: Project Manager - Software UpgradeDuration: 12+ months contractLocation: San Diego CA 92123Project Manager Job Description (P2– Senior I):• Project Managers within the Business Optimization group support and manage a variety of Capital and O&M projects primarily focused on process optimization, system enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives.• The Project Manager serves as the single point of contact and is accountable for ensuring the overall success of their assigned projects and.• The Project Manager is directly responsible for multiple projects at one time, leading various cross-functional teams to develop scope of work, business requirements, schedule, and resources, as well as proactively identifying and mitigating risks and issues to the project.• The Project Manager is also responsible for stakeholder communication, training, and implementation, change management, and ensuring key deliverables and milestones are met within the timeframes established.• The position typically leads high-profile projects that directly impact safety, reliability, compliance, asset management, customer service, and accounting operations and interfaces with executives.Qualification:Requires a Bachelor's Degree or minimum of 9 years’ experience related to project management, engineering, operations, IT, construction, or other related utility experience. Candidate must have a solid understanding of project management principles with Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus. Lean Six Sigma certification and/or working knowledge of various internal systems (GIS, SAP, Scheduling, Dispatching and Mobility Applications, etc.) desirable. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Power Suite applications.Must be a self-starter, driven, and high performing with good attention to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills. Must demonstrate experience managing large projects, directing change, and leading diverse teams. Successful candidates must have the ability to present technical and non-technical information to a variety of audiences, effectively lead meetings, and demonstrate a high level of professionalism.Required Skills & Tools -Mandatory:Visio (strong proficiency required) Used extensively throughout the day Ability to create/update flows live during meetings PMP Certification (Required) Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Preferred:SharePoint Smartsheet General technical/IT awareness Experience & Qualification Requirements - Experience: Typical range: 2–5 years Flexible: Up to 7–8 years acceptable Education: Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent experience Candidate level: Targeting mid-level / junior PM Overqualified (e.g., senior IT PMs) may not be ideal Preferred Background - IT / Software implementation experience: Not mandatory, but highly beneficial Utility industry experience: Strong plus Experience with: Process improvement Agile environments Large-scale system deployments Change Management Expectations - Only basic awareness required (not execution-heavy).
