Position Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Early Childhood Assistant Teacher to join our team, providing care and support for children from birth to three years of age. This role involves creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can thrive and develop their skills and abilities. Position Responsibilities: Direct CareImplement age-appropriate activities and routines in all activities based on a researched based curriculum to promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical developmentObserve and document children's developmental progress and communicate to parents and supervisors.Provide individualized care for each child, including feeding, diapering, dressing, and hygiene needs.Supervise children during playtime, naptime, and other activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.Assist with meal preparation and serving, ensuring children receive nutritious and age-appropriate meals and snacks. Communication and CollaborationMaintain open and positive communication with parents, keeping them informed about their child's daily activities and progress.Collaborate with other childcare staff to plan and maximize learning to ensure a cohesive and supportive environment for the children.Participate in all staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.Become knowledgeable and implement Michigan Child Care Licensing Rules. Environment and SafetyMaintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for the children.Ensure that all equipment and materials are age-appropriate and safe.Follow all safety protocols and procedures to protect the children and staff.Monitor and maintain high quality care and learning spaces above and beyond the Michigan Child Care Licensing Rules. Record KeepingMaintain accurate records of children's attendance, activities, and developmental progress via the district adopted methods and supervisor direction.Practice privacy and discretion with children's information.Document any incidents or concerns that may arise. Report, if necessary as a mandated reporter. Qualifications: An associate degree (AA) in early childhood education or a valid Center-Based Preschool CDA credential preferredHigh school diploma or GED with/6 semester hrs. and 3840 hours of birth-3 experience or 2 semester hours and 1920 hours of birth- 3 experienceCPR and First Aid certification preferred. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate practices.Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff.Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with young children.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
