Senior Engineer- Interior
Our Client, an EV Manufacturer company, is looking for a Senior Engineer- Interior for their Newark, CA location.Responsibilities:Be a significant contributor to a world class Interior Components and Systems engineering teamCreate industry leading Interior Components and Systems with groundbreaking luxury, craftsmanship, performance, safety, ergonomics, and functionalityContribute to the packaging, engineering, release, and launch of Interior Components and Systems across the client portfolioWork collaboratively within a cross functional marketing, design, and vehicle engineering team, prioritizing overall vehicle benefit above individual systemsCollaborate with interior trim suppliers to ensure technical excellence and on time delivery of client Interior Components and SystemsEmploy and develop effective tools and innovative approaches to support product developmentRequirements:4+ years of demonstrated experience as a detail oriented Interior Components and Systems development lead (e.g., hard trim, soft trim, IP, door trims, consoles, headliners, etc.)Knowledge and understanding of automotive interior components and systems, industry benchmarks, trends, and supplier capabilitiesExperience creating, improving, or establishing technical product specifications and timelines to support accelerated development toward SOPProficiency in CAD for 2D/3D concept drawings, interior components and systems, packaging layouts, and DFM studies (CATIA V5/V6 preferred)Vehicle and product launch experienceMinimum 4 years' experience as a detail oriented Interior Components and Systems development lead (e.g., hard trim, soft trim, IP, door trims, consoles, headliners, etc.)Minimum 4 years of knowledge and understanding of automotive interior components and systems, industry benchmarks, trends, and supplier capabilitiesMinimum 4 years' experience creating, improving, or establishing technical product specifications and timelines to support accelerated development toward SOPBachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related disciplineFlexibility and adaptability to succeed in a fast paced startup environmentExperience completing one full program cycle from concept to production launch in automotive interior components and systemsProfound knowledge of vehicle interior systems with a demonstrable track record of technical excellence and program executionStrong understanding of plastic part design, structural performance, manufacturing technologies, craftsmanship, ergonomics, safety, and homologation requirementsCompetency in materials selection, plastic injection molding/DFM, and GD&TA strong desire to create exceptional products as part of a highly capable teamA practical, hands-on approach that complements theoretical knowledgeExceptional technical abilities paired with excellent communication skillsWhy Should You Apply?Excellent growth and advancement opportunitiesICONMA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
