Skilled - Setup Operator

Setup OperatorQPS Employment Group has a great Setup Operator position at a company in O'Fallon, MO. This is a 2nd shift, direct hire role and focuses on accurate setup, quality production, and maintaining safe, efficient operations.Setup Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Set up progressive dies in punch presses for production runs.Assemble, install, and align dies according to specifications.Adjust ram to specified length.Operate punch presses to produce metal-stamped parts per blueprint requirements.Feed steel using a straightener and make necessary adjustments.Submit first-off samples to QA for approval.Perform adjustments to maintain part quality and production efficiency.Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals.Perform basic measurements using calipers, micrometers, scales, and gauges.Additional duties as assigned.Setup Operator Requirements:Previous experience as a Setup Operator or similar manufacturing role.Knowledge of progressive die setup and punch press operation.Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.Ability to read blueprints and use precision measurement tools.Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.High attention to detail and commitment to quality.Ability to stand or walk for long periods (up to 10 hours).Ability to bend, stoop, crawl, or kneel occasionally.Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.; occasionally up to 100 lbs. with assistance or lifting equipment.Must be able to talk, hear, see, and use hands/fingers for handling materials and tools.About us: QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
