Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmaceutical Sourcing and Logistics Specialist to optimize our supply chain operations within the pharmaceutical industry. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of procurement management, supply chain logistics, and supplier management, ensuring the seamless acquisition and delivery of pharmaceutical materials. The specialist will be responsible for managing sourcing strategies, negotiating contracts, and coordinating logistics to support manufacturing and distribution processes effectively. Duties Develop and implement sourcing strategies for pharmaceutical materials, ensuring alignment with organizational needs and regulatory standards. Manage procurement activities utilizing ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle EBS to streamline purchasing processes and maintain accurate materials management records. Negotiate contracts with suppliers, focusing on pricing, delivery terms, quality standards, and compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations where applicable. Oversee supply chain logistics, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution, to ensure timely delivery of materials to manufacturing sites. Conduct root cause analysis on supply disruptions or quality issues, implementing corrective actions to mitigate future risks. Collaborate with manufacturing teams on production planning and materials management to optimize inventory levels through MRP systems. Maintain supplier relationships through effective supplier management practices, category management, and performance evaluation. Ensure adherence to quality management protocols and regulatory requirements throughout sourcing and logistics activities. Qualifications Proven experience in procurement management within the pharmaceutical or manufacturing industry, with a strong understanding of supply chain principles. Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle EBS for procurement, materials management, and production planning. Demonstrated expertise in contract negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship development. Knowledge of federal regulations related to pharmaceuticals and government procurement processes is highly desirable. Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and implement process improvements. Familiarity with category management strategies, logistics operations, pricing negotiations, and quality assurance standards. Excellent communication skills combined with the ability to work collaboratively across departments in a fast-paced environment.
