By providing patients and internal and external stakeholders with a consistent, efficient, and easy experience, you’ll help ensure that patients at The Oregon Clinic Gastroenterology West Clinic receive the highest value care tailored to their needs.Using excellent customer service and communications skills, your primary duties in this phone-based role include: Primarily responsible for high-volume checking in and out of new/established patients.Promotes efficient physician scheduling and patient access by properly scheduling and rescheduling patients’ surgeries and/or appointments according to all office protocols and physician requests.Works with all departments to ensure smooth scheduling of patient testing, procedures, and other pre-surgery requirements. May include pre-authorizations, appeals, and testing schedules outside a TOC facility.Performs front office duties as necessary including medical records requests, answering telephones, and providing information.Obtaining and completing insurance information.Updating records as needed.Other administrative duties and responsibilities as assigned.SalaryHiring range, based on experience and credentials:Level II: $21.55 - $29.16 per hour.Workdays: This role is located at Peterkort Centre. Typical hours are Monday-Friday, (7:00 am - 3:30 pm).Qualifications that support success in this role are based on education, experience, and values including: Minimum of two (2) years of previous medical front office experience is required. Specialty care GI experience is a plus! Minimum of one (1) year of experience in surgery or other complex scheduling is strongly preferred. Prior EMR Experience is preferred. Epic experience is a plus!Familiarity with insurance and referral processes.Knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures.Demonstrated ability to initiate, work independently, and effectively multitask.Excellent attendance and work ethic.Positive attitude and desire to be a team player.Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, physicians, and other team members.A commitment to patient-focused care, privacy, and safety.This description is intended to provide only basic guidelines for meeting job requirements.
