Athletic Department Administrative Assistant

QualificationsHigh school diploma and equivalent combination of education, experience and or/trainingGeneral knowledge of athleticsAbility to count money and make deposits with building treasurerKnowledge of computer usage database software. Ability to use the following programs strongly preferred: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PublisherAbility to type accurately and proficientlyAbility to multitaskExhibit a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students, parents, staff, administration and the community, including difficult and emotional situationsSupport the philosophy of Danville Community School CorporationReports ToAthletic DirectorPosition GoalTo provide administrative assistance to the Athletic Director and the Athletic Department. DutiesCoordinate the athletic office acting as a receptionist and primary contact source for parents, student-athletes, coaches, contest officials, and vendors, screening and routing calls as appropriate.Prepare and maintain records of physicals, medical releases, drug testing forms, and concussion forms for all student-athletes.Prepare and maintain records of roster management. Facilitate the transportation needs of the athletic department.Prepare a variety of documents including rosters, forms, flyers, schedules, etc.Prepare purchase orders.Count and deposit game receipts.Maintain records of athletic contracts.Communicate and confirm contest times and locations with opposing schools and game officials.Confirm eligibility of student-athletes before each contest season.Complete, update, and submit forms to the IHSAA as needed.Other related duties as assigned.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
