Oracle OCI Cloud Engineer *LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY*
DataStaff, Inc. is in need of an Oracle OCI Cloud Engineer for a long-term contract opportunity with one of our direct clients in Richmond, VA.*This position is on-site.*Some after-hours and weekend hours required based on workload*Candidate must participate in on-call rotationResponsibilities:Design and manage Oracle OCI environments, including database, middleware, and infrastructure componentsDevelop and maintain Oracle APEX applications and ORDS servicesConfigure and administer Oracle WebLogic Server and related technologiesPlan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and conversionsImplement and manage backup, recovery, and replication strategies using RMAN and other toolsEnsure high availability, disaster recovery, and data protectionMonitor and optimize database performance, implementing tuning recommendationsImplement and automate routine tasks using shell scripting and tools like AnsibleCollaborate with development and DevOps teams to ensure seamless application deploymentProactively identify and resolve potential issues, providing timely supportDocument and train on best practices for Oracle OCI environment managementKnowledge, Experience and Abilities: 10+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and related technologies:Oracle Application Express 18 and higher(APEX)Oracle Rest Data Services 22 and higher (ORDS)Oracle WebLogic Server 14(both fusion middleware and weblogic suite)Oracle Database 19c and 26aiContainer Database (CDB) and Pluggable Database (PDB)Experience with upgrading Oracle Database from 19c to 26aiProficiency in Linux/Unix, including shell scriptingPDB cloningRMAN and backup/recovery proceduresWebLogic administration(patching/maintenance)Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) 24aiPSU Patching Oracle DB using Fleet Management ToolExperience with DBaaS in OCIProficiency in GitLab and Ansible scriptingOracle Data GuardStrong understanding of cloud computing concepts and architectureAbility to design and implement high-availability and disaster recovery solutionsExperience with Oracle OEM Cloud Control for monitoring and managementFamiliarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and KubernetesProficiency in scripting languages such as Python and JavaScriptIn-depth knowledge of database security best practicesExpertise in performance tuning and optimizationExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong communication and collaboration abilitiesAbility to provide 24/7 support and troubleshoot critical issuesDesirable Skills:Certification in Oracle technologies such as OCIP, OCP, or OCEExperience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CIUnderstanding of microservices architecture and API integrationRequired Skills:6 Years - Oracle database 12c10 Years -Oracle database 11g 7 Years - Oracle Grid Control to include version 13c5 Years - Oracle Apex administration and support 10 Years - Oracle DB migration from Solaris to Linux (database 12c/11g)10 Years - Oracle database backup/restore/rman/dataguard10 Years - Oracle performance tuning/database maintenance/management.10 Years - On-call production supportDesired Skills:7 Years - Oracle weblogic 12c/fusion middleware3 Years - Oracle cloud setup/AWS/Azure administration5 Years - Windows/SQL Server/IIS administrationThis position is available on a corp-to-corp basis or as a W2 position with a competitive benefits package.
