Job Title: Maintenance Technician IIJob Location: Memphis, TNPosition Type: HourlyThe Hershey Company Memphis plant is a Non-Union plant producing products such as Ice Breakers, Breath Savers, and Good & Plenty, in a high-speed complex environment.Pay: Starting Payrate: $34.95 per hour.Also, will receive $1.00/hour shift differential pay. Overtime Potential!Manufacturing Incentive Plan (MIP) EligibleShifts: We require that you are flexible to work any shift, weekends, overtime, and holidays.Schedule assignments upon hire are determined by plant needs. Regular schedule is 8-hour shifts; Mandatory overtime could be weekly (scheduled for up to 12 hours/day, Monday through Sunday), daily (additional 4 hours on your 8-hour shift) and weekends (8 to 12-hour shifts).Candidate Process: Qualified applicants will need to successfully complete a mechanical, written, and hands-on skills assessment. Those receiving a passing score on both the written and hands-on mechanical skills assessment will advance to an onsite interview with the hiring team. Post-Offer Drug Screen, Physical Assessment and Background Check requiredSummary:The Memphis Plant of The Hershey Company has immediate openings for Industrial Maintenance Technician II to work in our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.Maintenance technicians are skilled in electrical and mechanical and utility maintenance. Maintenance technicians' primary role is to maintain and optimize manufacturing equipment and systems.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Electrical:Demonstrate an understanding of the principles of basic electricity and electronicsDemonstrate an understanding of the National Electrical Code and NFPA 70-EDemonstrate an understanding of occupation-specific safety standards and proceduresDemonstrate ability to plan layout of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures consistent with specifications and local codesDemonstrate proper techniques used to measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduitsDemonstrate proper techniques used to install control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, outlets, relays, and circuit-breaker panelsDemonstrate proper techniques used to connect wiring to circuit breakers, transformers, lighting fixtures, thermostats, intercoms, signaling systems, power equipment, or other componentsDemonstrate proper technique used to check circuit connections to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of componentsDiagnose and repair or replace malfunctioning apparatus and components, such as transformers, circuit breakers, fuses, motors, generators, and fixtures Mechanical:Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctionsDetermines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instrumentsControls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring complianceMaintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receiptProvides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requestsMinimum Qualifications:Must be at least 18 years of age2nd (2pm - 10pm) or 3rd (10pm – 6am)Must be available to work weekends, holidays and overtimeMust be authorized to work in the United StatesMust possess either a journeyman's card from a state approved apprenticeship program or a minimum of 5 - 7 years of hands on electrical and mechanical work in manufacturing systems maintenance. This should include experience as a qualified machine repair person, toolmaker, or machine tool builder in troubleshooting, machine repair, tool making, machine building, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.Must be able to achieve a passing score on a written Mechanical NOCTI examMust have basic understanding of PCs and basic computer skillsIndustrial electrical systemsProcess control & instrumentationMotors and controls (AC and DC)Analog and digital devicesSchematics and electrical print readingPower suppliesElectrical maintenanceHydraulic and pneumatic systems operational theory, troubleshooting and repair; including ability to read blueprints and schematics and systematically diagnose and repair problemsLubricationMechanical drive systems including chains, belts, shaft, and gear drivesPump systemsHVAC systems including controls for air, condensate, pressure and temperatureSteam including boilers, temperature and pressure control, condensate control and system operation and performancePreferred Qualifications:Food manufacturing experience is preferredExperience with Safe Quality Food (SQF) practices is preferredExperience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is preferredExperience with Autonomous Maintenance (AM) is preferredExperience with Single-Minute Exchange of Die (SMED) is preferredExperience with Continuous Improvement methodology is preferred The Hershey Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
