Required Education• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field is required.• Master's degree in the above fields is accepted in lieu of some experience.o With a Bachelor's: 8-10 years of full-time professional experience required.o With a Master's: 5+ years of full-time professional experience required.• Strict Requirement: College projects, Master's thesis projects, and internships are not counted toward professional experience. Candidates listing these as experience will be disqualified.Technical Skills (Required)• Design & Development: Demonstrated leadership in taking a product from design concept to production.• CAD Proficiency: Fully proficient in Creo or Pro/E for modelling and detailing.• Simulation: Experience with Simulation Led Design using tools like Ansys Toolkit, FEA, or CFD; ability to quickly iterate designs based on analytical results.• Domain Expertise: Experience with engine combustion & emissions performance, engine calibration, and lab testing.• Software: Fully proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).• Project Management: Ability to define, prioritize, and execute tasks according to project goals.Soft Skills (Required)• Demonstrated ability to work as an independent worker and independent thinker.• Outstanding analytical and organizational skills.• Detail oriented with a creative problem-solving ability.• Ability to work in a team environment.• Displays attributes of a critical thinker and leverages innovative ideas.• Strong leadership and mentoring skills to provide support and constructive feedback.Responsibilities• Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines, and other mechanical devices.• Translate technical requirements into detailed test plans, including instrumentation requirements, and execute those plans.• Work with a team of design engineers and team leads to plan and execute engine component validation plans.• Prepare and deliver technical project summaries and final test results.• Prepare concept, design, development, and feasibility studies of complex engineering projects; work with suppliers to develop design concepts.• Prepare development plans and take accountability for meeting scheduled dates.• Conduct technical evaluations of major systems on competitive products.• Coordinate product tests with prove design and prototype build-up and test areas.• Evaluate, define, and resolve design and manufacturing problems.• Interface with Test and Evaluation, Service, Plant personnel, suppliers, and consultants for problem resolution.• Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine time and cost feasibility.• Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendations to maintenance crew.• Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair to ensure functionality according to specifications.• Implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
