Mechanical Designer (Dayton)

SCOPEResponsible for mechanical design, documentation, and production support for assigned projects. Develop and maintain accurate drawings, BOMs, and engineering standards while ensuring designs are high quality, cost‐effective, and meet specifications. Collaborate closely with production to ensure manufacturability and effective communication.Great opportunity for recent grads!EDUCATIONAssociate degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education and experience.EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS1–3 years of mechanical or equipment design experience (capital equipment, automation, machine tools, or presses preferred)Proficiency in 2D drafting and 3D parametric modeling (AutoCAD and CREO preferred)Strong knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing standards (ASME Y14.5)Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and TeamsFamiliarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred)Interest in DFM/DFA, weldments, castings, hydraulics, pneumatics, and machiningFamiliar with capital equipmentJOB FUNCTIONSCreate cost‐effective mechanical and piping designsPrepare accurate, fully dimensioned and tolerance drawingsPerform tolerance stack‐ups and interference checksMaintain parts databases and BOMs in ERP systemsSupport and develop engineering standardsCoordinate with manufacturing, assembly, and vendors to ensure manufacturabilityResolve design and production issuesContribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction effortsTravel and work flexible hours as requiredReport project status and complete other assigned duties
