Autonomous Systems Engineer

The company values curiosity, technical excellence, and practical problem-solving, offering opportunities to work on challenging projects with clear impact.Role Description The Autonomous Systems Engineer will design, implement, and optimize autonomy software and systems for robotic platforms and autonomous vehicles in a full-time, on-site role located in Los Angeles, CA. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing algorithms for perception, planning, and control; integrating hardware and software components; and ensuring robust system performance in real-world scenarios. The role involves collaborating with robotics, software, and systems engineering teams, conducting simulations and field tests, and analyzing data to improve safety, reliability, and efficiency. The engineer will document architectures, contribute to technical reviews, and support continuous refinement of autonomous capabilities from prototype through deployment.Qualifications Strong background in Robotics and Autonomous Vehicles, with experience designing and integrating autonomy stacks for real or simulated platforms.Systems Engineering skills, including requirements definition, architecture design, integration, and verification of complex multi-component systems.Proficiency in Software Development for autonomous systems (e.g., C++, Python, ROS or similar frameworks) and version control tools.Applied Data Science skills for analyzing sensor data, building models, and tuning algorithms to improve perception, decision-making, and performance.Bachelor’s or higher degree in Robotics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.Experience with real-time systems, sensor fusion, motion planning, or control theory is highly beneficial.Ability to work on-site in Los Angeles, CA, collaborate in cross-functional teams, and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.Familiarity with safety standards, validation methodologies, and testing frameworks for autonomous or robotic systems is a plus.
