As a key member of our technicians team, your work as a Diesel Mechanic will focus on the overall maintenance of equipment used by our company. Respect for ourselves grows through all the hard work and great service we provide to the communities we are privileged to serve.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Initiating repairs by utilizing vehicle computer electronic systems to interpret failure modesCompleting required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair timesReviewing, completing identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection ReportsConducting safety checks on vehicles and equipmentPerforming service calls for emergency breakdownsMaintaining a clean, safe work environment in compliance with corporate and OSHA standardsJOB REQUIREMENTS:Ability to work 2nd shift (2pm start time)Minimum 1 year of proven experience in the field preferredAbility to adapt to a wide variety of environments to complete work assignmentsWelding/fabrication experience, a major plusValid CDL or the ability to obtain one with 90 days.50% travel required, primarily in NC, SC, and VA.Ability to lift 50 pounds, ability to stand most of the work day, ability to stoop, kneel, and bend, ability to reach into tight spaces, ability to climb and crawl, ability to reach and twist, ability to grasp and use hand tools with precision, ability to see/read/write work orders, gauges etc., ability to withstand exposure to loud noises. Waste Connections is an equal opportunity employer.
