Onsite Hybrid or Remote PositionHours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM EST (or based on business need)What Accounts Receivable Specialist contributes to Cardinal HealthAccount Receivable Specialist is responsible for verifying patient insurance and benefits, preparing and submitting claims to payers, correcting rejected claims, following up on unpaid and denied claims, posting payments, managing accounts receivable, assisting patients with payment plans, and maintaining accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with regulations like HIPAA.ResponsibilitiesSubmitting medical documentation/billing data to insurance providersResearching and appealing denied and rejected claimsPreparing, reviewing, and transmitting claims using billing software including electronic and paper claim processingFollowing up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle time frameCalling insurance companies regarding any discrepancy in payment if necessaryReviewing insurance payments for accuracy and completenessDemonstrates knowledge of financial processes, systems, controls, and work streams.Demonstrates experience working collaboratively in a finance environment coupled with strong internal controls.Possesses understanding of service level goals and objectives when providing customer support.Demonstrates ability to respond to non-standard requests from vendors and customers.Possesses strong organizational skills and prioritizes getting the right things done.QualificationsHS, GED, bachelor's degree in business related field preferred, or equivalent work experience preferred2 + years' experience as a Medical Biller or within Revenue Cycle Management preferredStrong knowledge of Microsoft ExcelAbility to work independently and collaboratively within team environmentAble to multi-task and meet tight deadlinesExcellent problem-solving skillsStrong communication skillsFamiliarity with ICD-10 codingCompetent with computer systems, software and 10 key calculatorsKnowledge of medical terminologyWhat is expected of you and others at this levelApplies basic concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform routine tasksWorks on projects of limited scope and complexityFollows established procedures to resolve readily identifiable technical problemsWorks under direct supervision and receives detailed instructionsDevelops competence by performing structured work assignmentsAnticipated hourly range: $20.02 per hour - $25.78 per hourBonus eligible: NoBenefits: Cardinal Health offers a wide variety of benefits and programs to support health and well-being.Medical, dental and vision coveragePaid time off planHealth savings account (HSA)401k savings planAccess to wages before pay day with myFlexPayFlexible spending accounts (FSAs)Short- and long-term disability coverageWork-Life resourcesPaid parental leaveHealthy lifestyle programsApplication window anticipated to close: 4/24/2026 *if interested in opportunity, please submit application as soon as possible.The hourly range listed is an estimate.
