Sr. Software Development Engineer
Overview:
As a Sr. Software Development Engineer on the IXP team, you will help build, scale, and maintain Workday's messaging platform across SMS, WhatsApp, Push, and Email. You'll design and operate high-performing microservices, delivering enterprise-scale email and messaging capabilities. Your work supports millions of users receiving timely communications through a secure, resilient foundation. You'll collaborate with cross-functional partners and mentor teammates, while shaping the technical direction of the platform. Responsibilities:
- Design and maintain components of the enterprise messaging and email platform in line with platform standards
- Develop and scale multi-channel messaging services, templates, and deliverability infrastructure
- Collaborate with Product Management, Design, Security, and Engineering to deliver high-quality email capabilities
- Ensure code quality, security, performance, resilience, and testability across services
- Participate in evaluations, prototyping, and integrations with third-party messaging providers to optimize throughput and deliverability
- Shape engineering practices, participate in code/design reviews, and mentor junior engineers
Key requirements:
