Psychiatric Provider NP
Purpose: The psychiatric provider will provide behavioral health care services to both children and adults in an integrated care center. Job Duties:Responsible for providing outpatient care to patients showing a change or decline in mental statusWork independently with other members of the medical or behavioral health team, with entitlements to specific clinical privileges approved by the clinic's Board of DirectorsTake part in an interdisciplinary team that provides primary care, dental and behavioral health care to employees and patientsPerform patient histories and physicals, risk factor assessment, ordering of therapeutic and diagnostic tests; and attend to consultations and appointmentsPrescribe medications following the clinic's policy and relevant regulations of the StateConsult with physicians on cases that are beyond the scope of qualification of PMHNPPut all relevant patient data in medical records and case presentationsFormulate, execute and review healthcare education delivered to patients and families for disease preventionEnsure smooth communication with other health professionals for effective delivery of clinic service to patientsProvide consultation to the clinic's nursing and medical staff for improvement in holistically treating the whole patient, which enhances overall quality service delivery of the clinicProvide clinically relevant supervision to other psychiatric providers and social workers.Complete staff employee evaluations, at minimum once yearly.Manage corrective actions with Chief Clinical Officer as needed.Provide onsite behavioral health guidance to all staff in the absence of the Chief Clinical Officer.Education/Skills/Qualifications:Psychiatric nurse practitioner Masters or Doctorate degree or graduated from accredited physician assistant program with at minimum 3 years post graduate experience in psychiatry.Self-disciplined, energetic, passionate, innovativeExcellent interpersonal and communication skills requiredLeadership and organizational skills essentialBilingual especially in Spanish is preferred, but not requiredComputer literate preferredDemonstrate sound judgment, decision-making and problem-solving skillsKnowledge of medical office practices, procedures and equipmentKnowledge of problem-oriented record keepingCorrect English usage, spelling and grammarConfidence to communicate and outreach to other community healthcare organizations and personnelKnowledge of community resourcesMust possess nurse practitioner registration in NYS, which must be unrestricted, current, complete, and active
