1st Shift Utility Operator (Quality Inspector)
PurposeResponsible for inspecting purchased parts, subassemblies or finished products according to defined criteria to ensure quality products are delivered to customers. The department is structured as a formal team and requires the ability to work within the team.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesPerform inspections of purchased parts, subassemblies and finished company products according to defined criteria using standard physical, mechanical and/or electrical measurements.Rework or reject subassemblies or finished products as required.Conduct document process and system audits using written procedures. Accurately document the results of the inspections and testing.Review and generate scrap defective tags.Problem solving.Continuous improvement activities. Various other duties as assigned.Ability to follow established proceduresStrong attention to detailRequired Education & ExperienceOne -Two years of manufacturing experience with an understanding of competencies.Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a manufacturing environment.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The work requires regular standing, walking, bending, lifting and a variety of physical activities. Travel to customer locations as needed.
