Job Summary
The Porter Partner is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of assigned retail shopping centers. This position works as part of a two‑person crew and supports route completion using a company‑provided vehicle and GPS‑equipped tablet. The Porter Partner ensures that assigned properties meet company and client cleanliness standards by performing routine exterior cleaning, trash removal, and site maintenance duties. This role requires reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to work outdoors in various environmental conditions.
Essential Job Functions
Sweep and use backpack blower to remove debris, litter, and cigarette butts from storefronts, sidewalks, curbs, and parking areas
Empty trash receptacles, replace liners, and clean trash can surfaces and lids
Clean dumpster enclosures, remove excessive waste, and ensure sanitary conditions
Remove cobwebs from canopies, entryways, and exterior light fixtures
Maintain overall cleanliness and visual presentation of assigned properties
Assist with navigation and route completion using GPS‑equipped tablet
Help identify hazards, maintenance issues, or safety concerns at assigned locations
Support driver with route navigation, safety awareness, and operational efficiency
Ensure all assigned locations are serviced according to company standards
Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and operational guidelines
Use equipment and supplies safely and appropriately
Report safety issues, incidents, or property damage promptly to supervisor
Use company‑provided vehicle, tools, and equipment responsibly
Maintain cleaning tools, equipment, and supplies in proper working condition
Protect company and client property from damage
Additional Responsibilities and Requirements
Arrive on time and ready to begin work at the scheduled start time of 6:00 AM
Maintain professional and respectful conduct with clients, coworkers, and the public
Follow assigned routes and complete all required service stops
Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, vandalism, or unusual site conditions
Assist team members and supervisor as needed to ensure operational success
Perform other duties as assigned consistent with the nature of the role
Requirements
Qualifications, Education, and Experience
Valid government‑issued identification
Prior experience in porter services, janitorial services, landscaping, pressure washing, or property maintenance preferred but not required
Experience working in outdoor, field‑based, or route‑based roles preferred
Ability to pass a background check, if required by client or job site

Standing and walking for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours per shift)
Ability to work outdoors for extended periods
Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching
Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds regularly
Operating cleaning equipment such as backpack blowers and hand tools
Ability to enter and exit vehicles multiple times per shift
Use of hands for grasping, handling, and operating equipment
Working Conditions
Work is performed outdoors at retail shopping centers and commercial properties
Exposure to varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and humidity
Exposure to dust, debris, and typical outdoor environmental conditions
Work performed near vehicle traffic and public areas
Early morning start times required
Use of company vehicle, mobile technology, and cleaning equipment required
