Performance Engineering Intern
Job SummaryAs a Performance Engineering Intern, you will work as part of a team responsible for modeling, measurement, and analysis of storage systems performance. This role is within the Research and Development function whose overall focus is on technology advances, competitive market and customer requirements, product cost and time-to-market, and product quality. Performance engineers focus on performance analysis and improvement for new products and features as well as enhancements to existing products and features.This position requires an individual to be broad-thinking and systems-focused, creative, team-oriented, technologically savvy, and driven to produce results.Essential FunctionsMeasure and analyze product performance to identify and realize performance improvement opportunitiesDesign, implement, execute, analyze, interpret, socialize and apply storage-oriented performance measurements and their results, including the creation of tools and automationWork closely with development teams to drive the performance improvement agendaJob RequirementsKnowledge and experience in computer operating systems, computer architecture and design, data structures, software design and programming practices; systems programming in C and/or C++Strong scripting skills - Perl, Python (primarily within JupyterHub), ShellKnowledge of storage systems and file systems highly desirableA creative and analytical approach to problem solvingDemonstrated willingness to take on tasks and responsibilities that positively contribute to realization of team, department, and company goalsEducationMust be enrolled in an educational or professional program through summer 2026 or later.CompensationFinal compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards.
