Job Title: Full-Stack Software EngineerLocation: El Segundo, CA (On-site)Role OverviewHelp build software that proactively improves patient outcomes for more than 40,000 people every day.Join a rapidly growing healthcare AI company that is transforming patient care through predictive analytics, IoT, and intelligent software. Their platform enables healthcare providers to identify patient risks earlier, improve clinical outcomes, and streamline care delivery across post-acute healthcare environments.As a Full-Stack Software Engineer, you'll design and build secure, scalable applications that power mission-critical healthcare systems. Working across backend services, cloud infrastructure, and modern web applications, you'll collaborate with engineers, product leaders, clinicians, designers, and mobile developers to build technology that directly impacts patient care. As the platform continues to grow, you'll help scale a solution expected to support more than 100,000 patients over the next several years.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain secure, scalable RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI.Build responsive, interactive web applications using React or similar modern JavaScript frameworks, including Vue.js or Angular.Develop reusable frontend components and implement efficient state management.Optimize frontend performance through lazy loading, code splitting, caching, and other modern performance techniques.Ensure cross-browser compatibility and compliance with WCAG accessibility standards.Collaborate closely with frontend, backend, mobile, product, design, and clinical teams to deliver intuitive user experiences.Build, expand, and maintain cloud-native applications utilizing AWS services including Cognito, Pinpoint, IoT, MSK, and related technologies.Implement secure authentication and authorization protocols across cloud applications.Deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications using Docker.Write clean, maintainable code utilizing Test-Driven Development (TDD) methodologies.Develop comprehensive unit and integration tests using PyTest.Participate in peer code reviews while driving engineering best practices and high coding standards.Design, optimize, and maintain relational and NoSQL databases while ensuring performance, scalability, and data integrity.Implement security best practices to protect sensitive healthcare information.Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulated healthcare requirements.Proactively update, monitor, and patch APIs and applications to address security vulnerabilities.Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, API documentation, onboarding guides, change logs, release documentation, workflow documentation, and version histories.Contribute throughout the full software development lifecycle while helping continuously improve engineering processes.Education & QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).Advanced professional experience developing backend applications using Python and FastAPI.Strong knowledge of Python libraries including NumPy, Pandas, and Pydantic.Experience with multithreading, concurrency, and parallel programming principles.Strong frontend development experience using React and modern JavaScript frameworks (Vue.js and Angular experience also valued).Deep understanding of RESTful API architecture, HTTP/HTTPS protocols, and API security best practices.Experience building scalable cloud-native applications within AWS.Hands-on experience with AWS services including Cognito, Pinpoint, IoT, MSK, or similar technologies.Experience deploying and managing containerized applications using Docker.Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and testing frameworks such as PyTest.Strong experience with relational and NoSQL databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.Deep understanding of software architecture, scalability, performance optimization, and secure application development.Strong understanding of security best practices within regulated environments.Deep understanding of user-centered design principles, design thinking methodologies, usability best practices, and intuitive application design.Experience working with Git and collaborative software development workflows.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Demonstrated career stability, including consistent tenure within recent positions.Preferred ExperienceExperience with TypeScript.Experience with C++.Experience with Qt.Experience integrating Google APIs.Experience with Kafka/MSK and event-driven architectures.Experience developing software for healthcare, medical device, life sciences, or other regulated industries.Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and secure healthcare application development.Experience with CI/CD tools including Jenkins and CircleCI.Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Confluence, and Markdown.Strong understanding of visual hierarchy, interaction design, and user-centered interface design.Experience translating complex healthcare workflows into intuitive, user-friendly experiences.Exceptional attention to detail when developing applications that manage sensitive healthcare data.Ability to collaborate across
